Contract position working in a state of the art test lab. You'll be responsible for mechanical and electrical/electronic testing of electromechanical components. This is not production testing, but PPAP and DV/PV testing.
Perform testing on various types of connectors per SAE/USCAR test standards; the types of tests consist of force machine testing such as insertion/extraction, cavity damage susceptibility, mate/un-mate, numerous types of Tension & Compression testing.
Other tests may include: heat-age, vibration, life cycle, thermal shock, moisture- conditioning, temperature humidity, visuals, submersion, vacuum leak test, voltage drop, dry electrical circuit and sample preparation
Operate electronic equipment such as Thwing Albert force machines, oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters, power supplies, environmental Chambers, data acquisition systems, as well as other various test equipment
Requirements
Ability to read and interpret schematics
Strong soldering / crimping skills
Attention to detail
Knowledge of USCAR standards are a big plus
Previous experience with physical testing (environmental / vibration)
Formal electronics training (associates degree, vocational or military training)
